Abstract

The current technique is meant to build a mathematical model of temporal behavior of metrological characteristics of measurement systems on board spacecraft by the results of their self-check in the course of their regular operation. The model aims at probabilistic assessment of the moment when the critical component of measurement error exceeds its permissible limit, i.e. a metrological failure occurs. The approach suggested within the scope of this technique makes possible a comprehensive assessment of measurement channel error with the account of drift features modeled for each metrological characteristic, so that the totality of heterogeneous measurement modules belonging to the system is embraced. In its turn it improves the accuracy of the adjustment taken, such as changing the transformation functions and operation modes for measurement modules of on-board systems in dependence of their forecasted behavior (the short-term trend).
